Dv8 sets a new record!

September 28, 2011: 78 Kids in attendance!! Talk about raise the roof! Thanks to our 38 volunteers who follow God's calling each week and give their hearts to sharing the Good News! The Prayers go up and the Blessings continue to rain down!

dv8 Launch 2011-2012

We continue to be amazed by the number of kids who choose to spend their free time with us at dv8! God has proven his power time and time again by surpassing our expectations by a mile! dv8 had a huge attendance for the launch of our third year on Sept 7, 2011! Our best count (and that's not an easy task) was 65 kids and 36 volunteers representing 5 local churches. The energy was on HIGH and the volume was at 10, but most of all the love and friendship is beyond measure! Too many hugs to count! Let's do it again next week! Pray for our kids who are struggling in school, have aches in their heart, and are crying out for acceptance!

dv8 2011/2012 Kick-Off

dv8 is an outreach ministry dedicated to reaching HIGH RISK kids in McKinney's low-income housing! The kids we reach live within the walls of poverty, many with broken families, low self-esteem, lack of love, and hostility. It is our mission to go into East McKinney and make Jesus known and to see the lives of kid's changed through long-term relationships. We meet weekly with over 60 kids that are age 4 to 13+ years old.

dv8 meets on the MISD calendar from September through May, every Wednesday from 6:00-7:30 pm at the McKinney Housing Authority Activity Center, 1200 N. Tennessee. We are looking for men and women willing to commit to 2 hours a week and join the dv8 Team for the 2011-12 school year! If you have the desire to make an impact in the lives of high-risk kids (ages 4-13), then you need to get connected with us.
